What Does SP for Children Involve?
Speech Pathology supports children to develop the communication skills they need for everyday life. This includes assessing and treating difficulties with speech (how sounds are produced), language (understanding and using words and sentences), and social communication (interacting with others).
Sessions are tailored to each child and are often play-based and engaging, focusing on building skills such as expressing ideas, following instructions, forming relationships, and participating confidently at home, school, and in the community. Speech Pathologists also work closely with families and other professionals to ensure progress carries over into everyday environments, helping children achieve meaningful and lasting outcomes.
